The Way of the Cross, or Stations of the Cross, is a long-standing devotional practice in the Church that brings the faithful into a very powerful empathy with the suffering Christ. This prayerful re-enactment of the final hours of the earthly ministry of Jesus can bring forth an understanding of the salvific quality in suffering and a realisation that the Way of the Cross can indeed be a pathway to the Everlasting Life - the life we attest belief to in the Apostles Creed. The meditations in THE WAY OF THE CROSS A Pathway to Everlasting Life are by St Francis of Assisi and Blessed John Henry Newman. The artistic depictions of each of the fourteen stations are by a wide variety of artist ranging from Duccio and Titian through to contempory artists such as Peter Howson. Fr James Mulligan is Parish Priest of St Paul's Parish, Harefield in the Archdiocese of Westminster in London.
